Changes to support for SEN children
Further coverage of the news that ministers have announced that there will be a new single category of special educational needs (SEN), acting on the belief that too many children at English schools are currently labelled wrongly as having SEN. The reforms will force social care, health and education services to work together in planning children’s support. Parents will also be given more control over their children’s SEN budgets. Teachers’ leaders, charities and campaigners have condemned the plans that will see thousands of children removed from the SEN register. Read More
